Anniversary evening – 20 years of Grimaud Musical Evenings

“Works by Mozart (The Marriage of Figaro – Overture / Symphony No. 4, known as “Jupiter”) and Haydn (Concerto for trumpet)”

Founded in 1975, the Orchester National de Cannes, which in 2005 received a Victoire de la Musique d’Honneur for all of its work, is today conducted by Benjamin Lévy.
Very active on the European lyrical and symphonic stages, this young and brilliant conductor brings a new approach to each of his concert appearances. He was assistant to Marc Minkowski at the Paris Opera, the Salzburg Festival and the Amsterdam Opera, and associate conductor of the Netherlands Radio Orchestras from 2009 to 2011.

The National Orchestra of Cannes is a loyal partner of the Musical Evenings of Grimaud. For nearly 50 years, it has traveled the roads of France, always with the same enthusiasm, supported by its loyal partners, the City of Cannes, the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, the Sud Provence-Alpes- Côte d'Azur, member companies of the Andantino club and the Friends of the Orchestra.
It offers the public innovative and daring programs, led by renowned and quality artists. At the start of 2022, the Ministry of Culture has just granted it the Orchester National en Région label, which it shares with the Orchester d'Avignon, being the only formations in the southern region to obtain this national recognition.

Ennio Maso-Lelandais began playing the trumpet at the age of 6 at the municipal music school in Uzès where he was born.
Discovering a great passion for his instrument, he continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Montpellier, where he obtained his DEM in trumpet with the mention Very good unanimously as well as the congratulations of the jury.
In 2016, he won the national competition for young trumpeters in Isle-sur-Sorgue as well as the jury prize, in the Excellence category. The following year, he won the competition for young trumpeters in Lempdes in the same category.
Ennio continues his musical training at the Institute of Higher Education of Music - Europe and the Mediterranean of Aix-en-Provence in the class of Mr. Frédéric Mellardi.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Musical Evenings of Grimaud in the prestigious place that is the castle overlooking the Gulf and the Mediterranean, we will hear, around the major page in the history of music that constitutes the grandiose and majestic Symphony n° 41 in C major, K. 551, known as “Jupiter”, Mozart's ultimate symphony, the overture to The Marriage of Figaro, one of the composer's most emblematic operas and the brilliant sonorities of Joseph Haydn's famous Trumpet Concerto.
