Theme 2023: Transition Village: LIVING TOMORROW

The success of our energy and ecological transition requires a transformation of the habitat which must become more sober and more respectful of the environment and respond to the changes in our lifestyles.

The avenues exist to imagine housing for tomorrow, comfortable, pleasant to live in, low in resource consumption, powered by renewable energies and adapted to changes in our lifestyles. Smaller habitats, less expensive to use with the development of the exchange of goods and services, sharing and collaboration.
And then the climate changes, we must adapt buildings to more extreme weather conditions (high heat, floods, storms, drought) and use bioclimatic architecture by making the best use of the natural environment (sun, wind, rain) and the use of often more effective materials of natural origin (hemp, wool, vegetable fibres, cork, straw, wood, etc.).

Building is the leading energy-intensive sector with 43% of energy used in France ahead of transport, industry and agriculture (CITEPA, 12/2017).

Because the ecological issue is more and more pressing, let's not turn a blind eye to global warming when solutions exist.
