SIGNATURE LEGALIZATION:

The legalization of a signature serves to authenticate the signature of a user when it is affixed to an act which has been drawn up and signed without the presence of a notary.

The procedure is used to verify that the user is indeed the person concerned by the document. This action only aims to physically recognize the signature and to authenticate the quality of the signatory and not to certify the act itself. The legalization of the signature therefore does not engage the responsibility of the community for the content of the act.

THE CERTIFIED COMPLIANT PHOTOCOPY:

A French administration cannot require, for the study of your file, a certified copy of the original of a document issued by another French administration.

A simple legible photocopy of the original document must be accepted.

Certain copies or amplifications can only be issued by administrative or judicial authorities or legal professionals.

To obtain a copy of a judgment, contact your lawyer or the court office which issued the decision.

To obtain a copy of an authentic deed drawn up by a notary, contact in writing the notary who drew up the deed.

A foreign administration may require, for the study of your file, a certified copy of the original of a document issued by a French administration.
