Overlooking the Gulf since the Middle Ages, former capital of Freinet, Grimaud is like the tower of its castle which stands proudly above the plains and the sea, like an immutable watchtower that has crossed the centuries.

PROGRAM OF FESTIVITIES:

Continuously, from 5 p.m. to midnight:
Animations in the streets of Grimaud: troubadours, barkers, musicians, jugglers by the companies of the Tritons ripailleurs, the Barkers and the actors of the CRET de Grimaud (nearly 30 characters strolling through the village!).

Village and medieval camps, by the Lords of the Orient (place Vieille) and the Vassals of Provence (place des Remparts) and initiation to medieval combat, in software, for young and old, on the stand of the Vassaux de Provence (place des Remparts ).

Medieval market, with nearly 30 exhibitors distributed in the streets of Grimaud…
The children's village (Place Neuve) with:
- The squirrel cage, a medieval Ferris wheel all in wood!
- And more than 40 giant wooden games to challenge you with family or friends!

The village of trades of yesteryear (Place de l'Eglise) with:
- Pole wood turner
- Potter
- Ceramic decorator
- L’antre du Scribe – Calligraphy & illumination (exhibitions, productions and demonstrations of
illumination, and educational workshops and discoveries of calligraphy in the Middle Ages)
- Instrumentarium (presentation and demonstration of period musical instruments)
- Restorer and binder of old books

A burlesque and almost historic show, full of humor and music, on a 150m² stage!

Washerwomen settle in a public place with their bundle of linen. Based on received ideas about the Middle Ages, directly asked to the public, they improvise scenes mixing real information and imagination to depict the habits and customs of this time!
They soap up received ideas, wring out clichés, rid legends of their moths, and revisit the Middle Ages with humor and quirkiness!

“Béhourd” is a word derived from Old French meaning tournament or spear. This is a sports battle between knights in full armor, in duels or in teams. The Vassals of Provence will present it to you!
-7:15 p.m. (duration 60 minutes): Guided tour of the village of Grimaud by our professional guide, and discovery of its
medieval past (departure from the stage, forecourt of the Town Hall)

troubadours and characters (dinner on site, without reservation, for a fee – Menu: red and yellow tomato tartare with burrata mozzarella and homemade pesto; artisanal perugine and sautéed potatoes, with onion and pepper compote; gourmet panacotta – menu and single price: €18 - excluding drinks - refreshment bar on site) (place de l'Eglise)
