Existing for several centuries, the Wool Fair is a traditional festival taking place on Ascension Thursday. The most traditional of Grimaud festivals, existing for several centuries, is finally back, like every year, on Ascension Thursday!

On the program for this bucolic day, a 100% artisanal market on the theme of wool and textiles (new for 2024), all around Place Neuve: colors, materials and originalities will be discovered on the stands of our 20 exhibitors for the greatest pleasure of all!

At the same time, a large transhumance with more than 60 animals will cross the village (new for 2024)! Departing from the castle car park, the goats and sheep will parade in front of the Town Hall and across Rue des Templiers to reach Place Neuve... A morning meeting not to be missed!

And to welcome our sheep, and all their friends, a giant 1500m² farm will be set up in the village, with more than 100 animals roaming free, among our visitors: goats, ponies, donkeys (and colt!), llamas. , buffaloes, pigs, chickens, guinea fowl, ducks, geese, rabbits, ferrets, … farm animals will no longer have any secrets!

Demonstrations of sheep shearing and wool sorting will take place throughout the day...

On site, among the animals, the team from the Culture & Heritage department of the Town Hall will present its exhibition to you on the history of the Wool Fair in our village: why this festival, since when, who participated... ?

To discover this famous wool, the star of the day, workshops will be offered continuously, throughout the day, for young and old: introduction to weaving and felt work, creation of wool garlands, discovery of carding, etc. Ferme du Lambert and the Fiber Textile association.
Our visitors will be able to leave with their souvenir, created by their hands!

And what about a little pony ride in Grimaud for the little ones?
Or a challenge with mom and dad on giant wooden games? Or better yet, the discovery of our treasure hunt throughout the village…

Like every year, the Provençal folk group Escandihado will provide entertainment, with several parades, and a dancing show, under the village kiosk, all in tradition!
Since we're talking about Provence, this year we will be offering you workshops to discover the Provençal language, in small groups under the village kiosk, with the association "Je Parle Provençal" (new for 2024).

Finally, if there are a little peckish during the day, a gourmet corner will delight everyone at the top of Place Neuve, with several choices of takeaway dishes!

Besides, speaking of appetite, the aperitif will be offered to everyone at 12:30 p.m.!
