As part of the 20th edition of the European Night of Museums, the museum is organizing a conference from 6 p.m. on the theme of olive growing.
André Lanza started olive growing around ten years ago by first renting a plot of olive trees, then planting his own trees. Currently, its “herd” amounts to 1,500 olive trees, from the varieties cayon, ribier, picholine, cayet roux and aglandau, as well as a North African variety, the sigoise. He crushes the olives in his mill in a continuous chain and produces two green or ripe fruity oils each year.
