The Night of the Thermometer
It’s night. One of those nights when it’s too hot to sleep. When Lucie gets up to get a drink, she finds her mother on the couch. Her mother, lifeless. When you're a twelve-year-old girl and you find your mother lifeless, what are you supposed to do? You take off her shoes, you call the doctor. And then… And then you think that these kinds of things really aren’t supposed to be happening at your age. So you call for backup, like your best friend, Simon, who’s also twelve but never sleeps, too busy preparing attacks... The Night of the Thermometer is an unclassifiable comedy where two children, too shy to admit they love each other, talk about death, loneliness, lies, and the absurdity of existence. A play that tells the chaos of the world with humor and poetry through the emotions, contradictions, and challenges of growing up.
