The ‘Grimobile: soap box race’ is making its debut in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. You'll have to be in Grimaud on Sunday 6 April 2025 to see the village resemble the Monaco circuit. And that's just the beginning! Get ready for an unforgettable day in the heart of our medieval village.
You'll be able to watch the finest homemade soapboxes in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez race down our secure 300-metre circuit through the village of Grimaud, starting in front of the town hall, crossing the Place de l'Église and the Place Vieille and arriving at the Place Neuve. There's plenty of fun to be had as the course winds its way downhill and around tight bends.
The competitors will amaze you with their ingenuity and originality during the two timed heats. They'll be putting on a show if they want to go home with their trophy, with several prizes up for grabs:
- Speed: the fastest time of the day
- Fun: the funniest soapbox with the craziest crew (selected by our jury chaired by the Mayor of Grimaud)
- The public's favourite: you can vote for your favourite soapbox on site (based on your own criteria).
Programme:
- 9.45am: circuit inauguration
- 10.00am to 12.00pm: free practice session
- 12 noon to 2pm: on-site catering, refreshment bar and concert
- 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm: 1st timed heat
- 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: 2nd timed heat
- 5.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.: free runs (reserved for registered competitors and participants in the Grimobile)
- 6.00 pm: prize-giving ceremony under the bandstand on Place Neuve and concert!
DJ Jessica will be on hand all day long to set the mood. Panda's Cover Gang will also be on hand to set the stage alight with 3 exceptional live concerts from 12.45pm to 1.15pm, from 5pm to 6pm and from 6.30pm to 7pm.
To ensure that the whole family can enjoy the event, there will be a dedicated circuit in the Place Vieille where children can have fun at the wheel of little cars.
To ensure that the day remains a warm one, and for your safety and that of the runners, we ask you to remain vigilant on the outskirts of the course by respecting the signposting and the indications of our signallers who will be present along the route.
To make it easier for you to get to the village, we recommend that you take the free shuttle buses, which will be running from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. There are two departure points: the Blaquières sports complex (400 free parking spaces) and the Grimaud cooperative cellar. As parking spaces in the village are limited, these shuttles will give you the best possible access to the event.
Laughter and a warm atmosphere guaranteed throughout the event!
Make a note of the date in your diary!
