The Municipality of Grimaud undertakes a major program of works to modernize its wastewater treatment plant with a target cost of € 20.3 million excluding tax.

This investment effort stems from various obligations imposed on the municipality which will allow:

• The achievement of the new treatment yields required by the provisions of the decree of 09 February 2010, adopted in application of the European Water Directive (2000/60 / EC), classifying the Giscle watercourse (receiving place effluents from the treatment plant) in "sensitive zone"; Commissioned in 1989, the current book is technically incapable of meeting the requirements of these new standards of treatment;
• Taking into account the demographic and tourism development of the Commune over the next 20 years, requiring the adaptation of the capacity of the structure to the future needs of the population. Thus, the treatment capacity of the station will be increased from 45,000 to 55,100 population equivalents.
• Adapt and modernize collection networks to improve overall efficiency.

At the end of a consultation procedure, voted unanimously in the City Council, the Commune signed on 1 July 2018 a global concession contract with Grim'Eau (SAUR group). This concession integrates the design, construction and operation of the new structure.

The financing of this new equipment is based on a participation of 190 € HT per year and per subscriber.
